Moderator Liz Bradley Helmick, Conference Chair, is a graduate of the San Diego College for Women (1961) who re-established the Los Angeles Chapter of the Sacred Heart Alumnae/i Association. A lawyer for 30 years, Liz serves as volunteer Legal Counsel for Catholics in Media Associates at http://www.catholicsinmedia.org . CIMA reaches out to the Hollywood entertainment community in matters of faith and spirituality. It presents awards created to promote and applaud films, television programs and other entertainment forms that uplift the spirit and help us better understand what it is to be part of the human family.
Sister Sally Furay, RSCJ, Provost Emerita of USD, served for 25 years as Academic Vice President and Provost of the University of San Diego. There she also taught courses in English and in law, after earning a doctorate in English and American Literature from Stanford University; a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of San Diego School of Law; and membership in the California Bar. She currently works on various boards and commissions in higher education in legal areas, as well as with banking and theatre groups.
