COR UNUM AWARDS LITURGY
Organ Concert and Cor Unum Awards Liturgy underwritten by the Los Angeles Association
This liturgy is underwritten by the Los Angeles Association. The Cor Unum Awards Liturgy, during which the Cor Unum and Woman of Conscience Awards will be presented, will take place at the magnificent Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral, a short walking distance from the OMNI.
Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.The Mass will be preceded by a one half hour concert by the Cathedral’s renowned organist. As Music Director, Chris de Silva, a GIA published composer, will conduct a Choir and Chamber Group of musicians as they perform some of Chris’ own compositions. Liz Helmick,and Sandy Farrell, will help lead the singing. The concelebrants will be Msgr. Lloyd Torgerson, Pastor of St. Monica's Church in Santa Monica, Rev. Ed Benioff, Assistant Pastor of Holy Trinity Church in San Pedro, Rev. Tony Scannell, Chaplain of Catholics in Media Associates and Rev. Dennis Cleary, MM, Director of the Christophers. The homilist will be Msgr. Lloyd Torgerson. The Lux Aeterna Litany, composed by Chris de Silva, will especially remember our deceased religious, alumnae and alumni. A special prayer will be offered before the St. Philippine tapestry.
The Cor Unum Awards Liturgy will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 10:00 AM and will be followed by the Cor Unum Awards Luncheon at 12:30 PM.
SUNDAY MASS
Sunday Mass will be held in the Omni Ballroom, 2nd. Fl., at 8:00 AM on April 26, 2009. Rev. Ken Rudnick, S.J., Chaplain of Loyola Law School will be the celebrant.
