Sandy Cassell Farrell, Program Chair, and Liz Bradley Helmick, Conference Chair, at the United Nations during the 2007 AASH National Conference.

Dear Alumnae/i of the Sacred Heart:

Welcome to our 2009 AASH National Conference Website!

We have made every effort to insure that, through it, you will enjoy learning about all the wonderful events we have planned for you. Click on the icon of your choice on the Home Page or on the Site Map to get information.

The Conference will take place at the lovely the OMNI Hotel at the California Plaza in Los Angeles. We will have inspiring liturgies, a special native Indian blessing, seminars, speakers, meetings on AASH business and elections. On the fun side we will have wonderful social events. At the Welcome Dinner we will be entertained by all-woman mariachis. Pre tours include the San Fernando Mission, the Huntington Library Museum, the Gene Autry Museum, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

You will see the majestic Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, where the Cor Unum Awards Liturgy will be held, and the screening of a film on the creation of the larger than life tapestries that adorn the Cathedral. St. Philippine is depicted on one of the tapestries.

Every morning, we will have Kundalini Yoga sessions by an alumna and certified teacher. On Friday night, we will have a Baked Alaska and champagne dessert extravaganza with the Christophers, immediately following dinner at the City Club on Bunker Hill atop the high rise across from The OMNI.

Our Keynote Speaker at the Cor Unum Awards Luncheon will be one of the youngest ever members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, the Hon. Michela Alioto-Pier, an alumna of Broadway CHS, and a kindergarten classmate of our Yoga instructor. The final social event will be Saturday night where, in lieu of home dinners, you will enjoy a hosted dinner at the El Paseo Restaurant on Olvera Street, the birthplace of Los Angeles. There we will be treated to a delicious Mexican dinner and margaritas and be able to shop at the local souvenir stands.

We hope you will soon make plans to join us and that you will inspire many of your friends to come with you. Register on or before March 20th to enjoy a $50.00 discount from already incredible low registration fees, and a free tour of the magnificent J. Paul Getty Museum on the West Side.

We look forward to meeting each and every one of you!

Love and prayers from,
Liz, Sandy, and the Conference Planning Committee
